MAT Airways Amsterdam to Skopje Ohrid flights

Macedonian airline MAT Airways made its first flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol today. The arrival of MAT Airways marks the addition of two new cities to Schiphol's network of destinations.
The new airline will be operating flights to its home base in Skopje every Friday until the end of October and to Ohrid every Friday during high season (1 July - 2 September).
Established in December 2009 by Kon Tiki Travel and the Metropolitan Investment Group, both based in Belgrade, MAT Airways celebrated its first flight in August 2010. The airline's flights to and from Amsterdam will mainly target Dutch holidaymakers and residents of Macedonia. The MAT Airways fleet consists of one Boeing 737-500.

Flights will be filled primarily by the Dutch tour operator Karatanova Tours, which specialises in designing package trips to destinations in Balkan countries. Comprising mainly round trips with a cultural, culinary or nature focus, these packages will be marketed to the major Dutch tour operators. Tickets for individual flights can also be purchased from Karatanova Tours and on the MAT Airways website.
